Quality is of the utmost importance to me. I create each item with as much care as I would put into something for my own child (more really, since I give them the rejects!) and I choose my contributing artists carefully for their creativity and attention to detail.
Change is the nature of handmade, so we replace our current creations with new ones all the time. If you see something you love, you probably shouldn’t wait…it might not be around long. Be sure to visit often for special offers or to check out our newest goodies.
Our Packaging
All orders are carefully wrapped in gift tissue and finished with a ribbon and tag before shipping. If you’re purchasing a gift and shipping directly to the recipient, we’d be happy to include a complimentary gift note. Just email us with exactly what you’d like it to say (please keep it short).
Our Applique Clothing:
Every applique is individually cut by hand, heat bonded to the garment fabric, and then carefully stitched at the edges with contrasting thread for reinforcement and appeal. The t-shirt appliques are sewn with a tight zig-zag stitch, which leaves the edges visible and allows for just a bit of fraying. The applique will not fray more than 1/8 inch at most. This fraying is completely intentional, and we love the character that raw edges contribute to our shirts! The appliques on our quilts, towels, market totes, and dresses require a more formal look, so those use a tighter stitch which will not allow for any fraying. We hope you like our applique creations as much as we do!
Our Organic & US-Sourced Options:
Currently, we are thrilled to offer a limited selection of clothing that is made with organically grown cotton. There is a small increase in price for this option, but we are supporters of organic farming methods and believe the price is worth paying. If you agree, let us know and we will add more organic options…we’re planning to have more available soon! We are also working on sourcing our pre-made clothing (for applique and embellishment) from a company that makes their products entirely in the United States. We look forward to introducing those made-in-the-USA options.
Our Hair Clips & Bows:
Hair Clip Styles
We offer five different clip styles and sizes for our hair clips and hair bows. All are professional, salon quality products that are meant to stand up to daily abuse by little girls! Every one of our clips is individually checked before we embellish them, so we can be sure each clip closes tightly and won’t slip, even in super fine baby hair. All of our bows are tied by hand and our feltie clips are individually hand cut and sewn, adding uniqueness and character to every piece. Quality is very important to us, and we want you to be thrilled with our creations!
The following photo shows our available clip sizes and styles. Not all clip embellishments and bows are available in all sizes, but you’re welcome to contact us with special requests. Available options will be shown in each individual listing. From top to bottom: large french barrette (3 in), medium french barrette (2 1/4 in), alligator clip (1 3/4 in), large snap clip (2 in), tiny snap clip (1 in).
Hair Clip & Bow Care
Our hair clips and bows are not water proof. Please take care to remove them before baths, swimming, and sprinkler playing! All of our bows and other embellishments are securely glued in place, but certainly could be pulled off by strong little fingers. PLEASE check your bows and clips often to be sure they’re secure and keep a careful watch on young children as the small pieces could pose a choking hazard. If you ever need a repair made to a clip or bow purchased from us, we’d be happy to help!
